Ohio Statehouse Sesquicentennial Poster
- Item #: Col-8
Jim Siemer is honored to have created the Ohio Statehouse Sesquicentennial Poster for the Statehouse Museum Shop. Jim’s watercolor captures the permanence, elegance and grandeur of the Ohio Statehouse which has served as the heart of Ohio democracy for the last 150 years.
During the fall of 2010, Becky Wildman, manager of the Statehouse Museum Shop, asked Mr. Siemer to create a watercolor of the Ohio Statehouse as it would appear in summer. While doing research on the Statehouse, Jim realized that Sesquicentennial Celebrations for the Statehouse would begin in 2011 and he was inspired to create a painting to honor this significant event in Ohio’s history. To do so, Jim’s painting details the Greek revival Doric architecture of the building, along with the Ohio and U.S. flags proudly waving against a blustery sky.
Jim’s Ohio Statehouse Sesquicentennial Poster and prints of his Ohio watercolors are also available at the Statehouse Museum Shop.
The size of the Ohio Statehouse Sequicentennial Poster is 11 x 17.
This poster will be carefully roled up and shipped in a protective tube.
